We Played, We Laughed, We Conquered! 1

TDWSA Women’s Squash Camp & Playcation

On March 31-April 1, 43 women from levels A through D took part in our first Squash Camp & Playcation at the Unionville Athletic Club. We worked on building mental toughness, understanding game strategy and tactics, assessing our technique through drills and swing analysis, improving our physical resiliency and minimizing the risk of injury. As if that weren’t enough, we also enjoyed a delicious dinner in great company, supported the Black Knight Conqueror Project to conquer cancer through sponsorship and a raffle draw, and played a mini-tournament.

We are delighted with the feedback we’ve received so far, both positive and constructive, and will use it to keep improving our programming  for female squash players in Toronto & District. Our thanks to our phenomenal coaches: Melanie Jans, Nicole Pirko, Scott Denne, Bob Bowers, and Hajnal Laszlo!

Here are some scenes from the Camp & Playcation:

We filled the courts at Unionville Athletic Club March 31-April 1 for our Squash Camp & Playcation.

With only 4 courts and 43 women, we practiced our mental focus with extended games to 21 points.

Black Knight offered a fantastic raffle prize that was won by the lucky Kate Switzer of Georgetown Racquet Club.

There was plenty of camaraderie, both court side and apres squash!

In our physical training sessions, we established that, while ELDOA is not the Romanian word for torture, it is quite challenging.
All of the final matches (games to 21) were closely fought.
